In this video, I take on the challenge of photographing Mumbles Lighthouse, shooting directly into the sun. It’s a difficult technique, but incredibly rewarding when done well! A couple of weeks ago, I met up with my good friend and fellow Welsh photographer Gareth Danks to capture this iconic landmark, located in Swansea, South Wales. Although I’ve filmed Fine Art videos at this location before (link below), this was my first time actually creating, what I call, normal landscape images here, and what a stunning spot it is. For any landscape photographer, this area offers endless possibilities. What really surprised me was how I managed to keep shooting even after the sun had risen above the horizon. Photographing straight into the sun is no easy task, but when it works, the results can be spectacular.
