Exploring Vancouver Island’s Remote North | San Josef Bay Adventure

Join me on a trip to the very north end of Vancouver Island, where we set out for San Josef Bay—one of the island’s most remote and beautiful spots. The journey began with a peaceful evening at a nearby campsite, where things quickly became exciting after a close encounter with a black bear. From there, we hiked a couple of kilometres through lush coastal forest before arriving at San Josef Beach, where we camped overnight under clear skies. The weather couldn’t have been better—perfect for exploring the sweeping sands, photographing intricate patterns, and soaking in the rugged beauty of this wild coastline. If you’ve ever thought about venturing to San Josef Bay, or you’re curious what it’s like to combine camping, photography, and a bit of wildlife drama, this video is for you.
