You ever stand on a beach so jaw-droppingly beautiful that you start tearing up — not because of emotion, but because the wind’s basically exfoliating your corneas? Welcome to Iceland, my friends. It’s the land where photographers go to test their gear, their patience, and occasionally their masculinity. In today’s video, I take you to a beach so absurdly gorgeous it makes me question all my life choices up to this point. Between the dramatic black sand, the moody skies, and the sheer cinematic perfection of the landscape, you’ll probably want to sell your house and move here (until you realize the wind could launch a tripod into orbit).
There’s a fine line between “adventure photographer” and “idiot standing in a storm for art,” and in this video, I proudly dance across it like an over-caffeinated penguin. Expect laughter, a few expletives, and probably at least one moment where I question why I do this to myself.
Since we’re talking about pain, it’s that time of year again — Christmas shopping season! 🎄 Instead of buying your loved ones another scented candle or novelty mug, why not give them my new book Stories Within Stories? It’s heartfelt, inspiring, and far less painful than getting hit in the face by flying sand. Use the special coupon code stories10 to save a few bucks, and if the postal gods are merciful, it might even arrive before Christmas. (No guarantees. I’m a photographer, not a logistics company.)
So grab a cup of something warm, wrap yourself in a blanket, and come along for the ride.
This Iceland road trip is full of tears (mostly mine), laughter, and the kind of raw natural beauty that reminds you why we drag 30 pounds of camera gear up freezing beaches in the first place.
How many 'ancient slumbers' can Amanda have and will she be sharing that pizza? You'll also get to find out the real reason why I only ever get 14 minutes of sleep a night.
Thanks for watching
